Give your channel a vibe check
The VIBE Check scores your last eight videos on four pillars, Value, Identity, Belonging and Emotion, and tells you what your next three videos should be.
Your channel can feel off without you being able to say why. The VIBE Check is how I look at it. It takes your last eight videos and scores them on four pillars, so "something feels off" turns into a number you can do something about.
The four pillars
- Value. Someone searched for this.
- Identity. Only I could have posted this.
- Belonging. My people can join in.
- Emotion. This one comes back to how it felt.
Step 1: tag your last eight
List your last eight videos, newest first, and mark the one pillar each video mainly served. If a video is doing two jobs, pick the louder one. A pillar that never gets marked is the whole point of this step.
Step 2: score each pillar out of five
Five means a stranger could see that pillar in your last eight. Zero means it's missing. If you can't remember posting anything like it, the score is low. Write the low number down.
Step 3: make three for the lowest
Find your lowest pillar and name your next three videos for it. Give them dates you'd say out loud to somebody.
